UA Mock Trial Wins Super-Regional, Earns Bid to National Championship

UA Mock Trial’s A team won the American Mock Trial Association Super-Regional tournament held in Greenville, South Carolina the weekend of March 16-17. This super-regional field is comprised of teams that all had to win their regionals, so it is a tournament full of proven teams, and it is predictably tough to advance to the National Championship Tournament.

Alabama’s squad came out on top of a field comprised of teams from Duke (x2), Emory (x2), Furman (x2), Georgia Tech (x2), Florida (x2), Florida State (x2), Mississippi, and Tennessee, amongst others.  The video shows the announcement and the team’s reaction.

Alabama’s A team competed against Duke A (sweeping them), Florida State A (sweeping them), Furman B, and the University of Miami, finishing 9-3 and earning first bid to Nationals.  Alabama’s B team competed against Florida A, Furman A and B, and the University of Miami, finishing 6-6.

The year started with 650+ teams, and Alabama A is one of the remaining 48 teams.

Alabama A next competes in the National Championship Tournament in Chicago, from April 19-21.
