Neera Tanden Will Be Visiting the UA Political Science Department Wednesday, January 29, 2020

Neera Tanden, President and CEO of the DC think tank Center for American Progress, will be visiting the UA Political Science Department on Wednesday, January 29 to talk about healthcare policy with Dr. Dana Patton from 3:30pm to 4:30pm and then do a Q & A session about careers in DC from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Both events will be held in ten Hoor room 253.

This will be a great opportunity for students to hear from someone who has worked directly on healthcare reform (she worked as a senior adviser for health reform at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services during the passage of the ACA) and who has extensive experience working in a number of different roles in DC (she has worked in the Clinton WH, as deputy campaign manager of Hillary Clinton’s 2000 senatorial campaign, as Clinton’s legislative director in her senate office, as her policy director during Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, as director of domestic policy for the 2008 Obama general election campaign, as senior adviser at the Department of Health and Human Services during the passage of the Affordable Care Act, and as president of the think tank Center for American Progress).
